Design Approach: Blending Tradition with Modernity

The design strategy focuses on creating a harmonious extension that complements the original Victorian architecture. Key features include:

Large Pitched Gable Elevations: These provide a sense of grandeur and align with the traditional aesthetic of the existing structure.

Mixed Facing Materials: A combination of brick and other materials will be used to ensure the extension integrates seamlessly with the original building.

Expansive Glazed Openings: Large windows and doors will flood the family space with natural light, enhancing the connection with the garden and surrounding landscape.

Material Strategy: Thoughtful and Timeless

The selection of materials is guided by a desire to create a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The use of traditional materials ensures the extension respects the property's heritage, while contemporary elements introduce a modern twist.

Outcome: A Home for Modern Living

On completion, the Gladstone Road project provided a spacious and light-filled family area that serves as the heart of the home. The thoughtful integration of traditional and modern elements will create a cohesive living space that meets the demands of contemporary family life while honouring the property's Victorian roots.
